So, last nights episode was a bit slow - but I think one thing was made obvious - Charlie will be the first person to "go to the Dark Side." By that I mean he will leave the camp and join the Others. This will be our first real deep look into the Others camp. Just a prediction - but I'm pretty confident on this. He is pretty much a pariah now at the main camp, and from the flash backs it was obvious he wants to belong to a family.
Also - and maybe I'm falling into the "oh my god did you notice this one tiny little detail" camp - did anyone else think the offhand comment about the washing machines being new was significant? I had thought that perhaps that Hanso (or is it Hanzo? I forget) had perhaps abandoned the Island. Maybe they are still monitoring things and providing basic support.

I am skeptical about your theory on Charlie. If memory serves me correctly, weren't the 'tailies' that were taken supposed to be the 'good' ones, or some such thing? I think I remember something like that during the re-cap of the 'tailies' time on the island.

1) Sawyer calling Hurley, "Jabba"
2) Charlie putting up the hood, a la Anakin.
I too think Charlie will wonder off and let "the others" take him, but like you said "the others" take the good ones.
I still want to know what happened to the original guy in the hatch (sorry i forget his name). I think he knows about "the others", but didn't he mention he was part of some "race around the globe?" Think "the others" were part of the same race?
I too found the mention of the washing machines to be a bit odd. I think I saw that same model in Best Buy last week - LOL!

I'm highly suspect of Libby. That girl trips me out, even more so with Hurley looking at her for a straight minute, then her defusing the situation with a revealing top.
I think that Hurley remembers her from the hospital he was in. Libby was either a patient or a doctor (Duh). Plus that story she made up about him stepping on her foot was shaaaady. I have a funny feeling about her...funny feeling I tells ya'!

Granted, I'm 2 eps behind so I might have missed something.
Oh, and i think hatch boy was named Desmond?

i don't think libby's story about Hurley stepping on her foot was necessarily shady.
if you remember from Hurley's flashback story, he did almost miss the flight (alarm clock didn't go off, missed a shuttle from the hotel, ended up running through the airport). he -was- all sweaty and he -was- the last person on the plane, so libby was right about that.
was she using that incident to try and steer the conversation away from something? maybe. hell, probably :) but...it wasn't a made-up story.

Locke - question - was it ever explained how he learned all the hunting/military stuff? In his first backstory, if I remember right, he was talking to a coworker about military history, so he could just have been "really into it", but just because you read about guns, knives, etc, doesn't mean you can convert it into real-world use.

I agree, I think the story Libby was telling was just her steering the convo away from something. I still think she's shaddy. I just don't remember the foot thing, but I do remember the sweaty/almost missing the plane part.
Locke/Heroin - Perhaps he's saving it to keep charlie away from the baby in the future? (I know, way out in left field). But maybe Locke himself had an addiction? I think Ray is right about the save everything theory, too.
Anyone find the island on google maps, yet? ;)

When they mentioned it last night, I wasn't sure if they were poking fun of themselves (for sort of messing up having such new item in the hatch) or if there's more to the issue.
When a show has so many different theories/twists, it's very easy for a prop on set to cause lots of attention, when in fact the prop used was an oversight and shouldn't have been used.
So, are they making fun of themselves for making a mistake or does it indeed mean something (i.e. there's people in contact with the island.)

The Others took Walt. Walt's not good. Walt killed the bird, killed his mother, and burned the raft. Walt may end up being good but right now he is not Utopian good.
