Canvas Logo
Dave Hill has come up with some cool Canvas logos. I need to pick one for Canvas 2. What do folks think?
Logo 1

Logo 2

Logo 3

My favorite is the first one.
Comments
From a fellow graphic designer's perspective, the first one.

IMHO the first one is the strongest since the C is more prominent in the smallest version of the logo.
Definitely the first one.

Another vote for the first one!
It just stands out stronger.

Kinda reminds me of a -45 degree version of the open source logo: http://www.opensource.org/

Yeap, in the order: 1, 2 and 3 ;-)

I favor the 1st one too, second one is ok, definitely not the third.

I like #2 - it feels fresher and more original than #1 even though I like that one to.

After having a bit of a look (I initally liked 3) I am now sold on 1. Go number one! go!
I didnt realise that I had almost used the open source logo icon, strangely enough though I was trying to represent the open source aspect of Canvas. Perhaps a nice coincidence.

In a classic display of non-conformity, I really like #2. It doesn't quite look like anything else that's out there to me. Second preference is the oh-so-popular #1. #3 just doesn't work for me, but I can't put my finger on why.

Number one all the way, really nice design. Looking forward to Canvas V2
Number 1 rocks. I like that the C is made from a head and shoulders shape on it's side. Number 2 is a little too generic.

my personal choice would be 2 then 1 then 3. The font of 2 impacts more for me but maybe I'm OCD to italicized text :P
I'm for #1 myself. Except I'd liketa see what it looks like with the "C" tucked into the green circle. Like it's wrapped around the "C" in canvas.
Definitely version 1.

Isn't it more important to protect the Wiki from hackers than put a logo on it?

This is one of the things holding up ( IMO, not expecting others to share it. ) cfeclipse. It's a great product... but I would like to put in a request for optional security. It's nice to live a fantacy that people are good... expec. in the season of Solstice where the festival of lights and tree trimming with gold and silver are a world wide tradition. (No, not saying we all celebrate solstice before someone says it...) Just saying that in the season of peace and goodwill toward men, it would be good to put a layer of protection between the those who aren't seeking goodwill and the rest.

John, I am very aware of this. I am not delaying Canvas 2. I'm looking over the code right now. I just wanted to get peoples opinion on the logo. The only reason Canvas 2 has taken so long is that I only have a certain number of hours per day. ;)

I really like logo 1 as I really like the color green, but I think logo 2 stands out more.

I would choose the second one.
The third looks like Google updater and the first looks like the claws of the Scorpio logo.

Sounds great Ray. Canvas is such a good product that it's a shame that people abuse it!
I vote for number 2.

Number 2 looks the most professional, so therefore, is my choice. Numbers 1 and 3 look amateurish to me.

I love #1. #2 looks professional but looks bland as well.

The first one for sure. As already mentioned, the "C" being cut out by a "head and shoulders" shape is cool ;) And I'm partial to that shade of green lately too, hehe...
Can't wait to see Canvas 2. Cheers Ray, and have a Merry Xmas!

So just so folks know - I counted 6 more for #1 than #2, so it wins. I'm going to release Canvas 2 as a beta real soon as I think its good to go. Mark Mazelin did an amazing job with it.

Without question or hestitation, Logo 1. Seriously, that's a GREAT logo - I love the "hidden" person in the logo. Very cool.
