Harlan AdServer Updated

Not that many people use it - but I updated Harlan AdServer today. Harlan is a simple ad server program that lets you create and track ads and campaigns. Today's update is something I should have added a long time ago - the ability to reset stats for ads or campaigns.

Happy Release Day

Hey, buddy. Yeah, you. You wanna some new releases? How about...

BlogCFC 5.7.001 - Includes updated RSS and Search code

Canvas 2 - Yes. Finally. Includes... um, a whole lot of stuff. It still doesn't have an upgrade script for 1.5, but I'm not the first person to release a delayed project out of just pure frustration. Mark Mazelin gets credit for 99% of Canvas 2. He was done months ago. This is my fault.

Harlan 1.0.4 - The ColdFusion Ad Server so poorly written it sends people to PHP!

Lighthouse Pro 2.3.004 - This is just a minor bug fix.

Harlan Ad Server Updated

It's been a few months, but I've updated my ColdFusion based ad server, Harlan. The changes include:

  • Fix IE issues. IE sucks. I hate IE. Have I said that IE sucks?
  • When deleting an ad from a campaign, I was resetting all of the stats for all ads in the campaign. Now I only remove the stats for that ad.
  • On the logon form, auto-focus on the username. Charlie suggested that in BlogCFC, and I'm trying to do that to all my applications now.

Version 1.02 can be downloaded from the project page.

Harlan ColdFusion Ad Server Updated

Thanks to two cool finds by Critter, I've got an important update to Harlan ColdFusion Ad Server. The updates are as follows:

  • The SQL Server file was updated - and I forgot to paste back in the INSERTs to put the default user in. Oops. Kinda makes it hard to logon with no user.
  • Big one here - Harlan spits out JavaScript that, in theory, will work on any other host. But the links I generated were relative links, not full links. That is fixed.

As always, you can download Harlan from the project page. Critter found these bugs, but he says you should go visit my wishlist. I tried to convince him otherwise, but he wouldn't let me. (Sigh) Just kidding - again - thanks go to Critter for finding the issues.

Today's build brought to you by the drum and base stylings of Pendulum. Played too loud. In the future they will have robotic ears so it won't matter.

Edited: Critter found another host related issue - this time in the image url. The zip has been updated.

Harlan ColdFusion Ad Server Updated

This morning I released a small update to Harlan ColdFusion Ad Server. Changes are as follows:

  • The MySQL db install file had many bugs. These are fixed now.
  • All db install files updated to support new target feature.
  • Application.cfc error email said Lighthouse Pro, not Harlan
  • Small HTML error in campaign editor.
  • Finally, a new feature. Ads can now have a target. This allows you to set up ads that, when clicked, will open up in a new window. Of it your site is framed, you can make the ad load and get rid of the frames.

As always, you can download the application from the project page.

Harlan Ad Server Released!

Six months ago today DRK12 was released by Macromedia. On that DRK I released a product called Harlan Ad Server. Harlan was a tool to allow you to earn money from your web sites by generating ads and advertising campaigns. Much like Google AdSense (which I use here), Harlan generates JavaScript code that can be placed on your web site (or even on a totally unrelated, non-ColdFusion web site). Once your ads are displayed, you can begin tracking the results including impressions and click throughs.

Before today, Harlan was only avaiable on the DRK. Now it is available to everyone. Please see the license in the readme.txt file for more information. To download the application, please visit the project page.

DRK12 Released

DRK12 has been released for those of you who are in DevNet. I have (yet another) application on it - Harlan. Harlan is an ad server, a bit like Google Adsense. You can use it to create ad campaigns for your sites and track impressions and click throughs.
