Few quick notes (BlogCFC, TV, and a Textmate query)
I just released an update to BlogCFC. This fixes a few small bugs, but one is pretty critical. On blogs with multiple authors, if a user edits another user's blog entry (to fix a typo for example), than that user will become the author of the blog. Thanks to Sean Corfield for finding that one.
Speaking of blogs with multiple authors, don't forget that myself, Scott Stroz, and Scott Pinkston are blogging over at Geek The Tube. That's my main place to blog about TV/movie stuff, and with the fall season starting up (I still don't know what to think about the Urinal Terminator) the activity is picking up again.
Lastly, a TextMate question. I notice when I use Textmate to edit files on another machine on my network (I believe both Mac and PC), it leaves behind a file of the same name with an underscore in front of it. Anyone know what this is? It may not just be TextMate, but that's my primary editor outside of Eclipse.
Geek the Tube Forums moved...
Just in time for the Fall season, I've finally got around to moving my Geek the Tube forums to a new site. You can find the forums, and the blog, at http://www.geekthetube.com. I set up a blog on front for more generic announcement type news, and I'll probably stop blogging most TV stuff here (except for the Lost reviews of course!). Both Scott Stroz and Scott Pinkston will be blogging there (Scott S has promised to prove to me that Rescue Me is worth watching) as well.
Another Flash Launches Tonight
Tonight, at 8 Central, is the launch of the new Flash Gordon on the Sci Fi channel. I've got hopes for this one. The Battlestar Galatica relaunch was superb, so I think one could have a chance as well, especially if they keep some of the "camp" from the movie. (And yes, I'm about to load the Queen song now.)
Jericho Returns
I've gotten a lot of emails over the past day or so, but didn't want to post anything until I saw something more official. Now it looks like it really is. CBS has ordered seven more episodes and is open to the idea of more. It even looks like they are going to do other things to promote the show too. (If I were the ungrateful snarky type, I'd suggest that they maybe consider not putting a show on hold for a few weeks and complaining when viewership drops, but that wouldn't be like me at all.)
Potential Jericho Closure
It looks like CBS is actually listening: Will CBS Find Closure For 'Jericho'? Of course, this doesn't mean that they will provide closure, but at least the campaigns for attention are being heard. Here is the thing CBS. Even if you find that it is not economically viable to create closure, you could spend a few bucks on a web page and just let the writer talk. Easy, right?
Jericho needs an exit interview

Ugh. Once again a cool SciFi show is being canceled - Jericho. Jericho was just getting really good and now it is simply going to end. I've had enough of this. I can understand the show being canceled if it didn't get the viewership, but the Geek in me demands answers. So what we need is an "Exit Interview" for the show creators. What were the planning on doing next season? Was there any secrets they never got around to revealing? Was China going to make any moves on the US? Etc.
We can make this happen. I mean, hard how can it be? We just need to:
Find out who the writers/producers are.
Call their agents and just ask!
I'm sure they wouldn't mind answering those questions, right? It's entirely possible that they had not mapped out season 2, but they can tell us something about the show that had not been revealed yet.
So I'm a big fat nobody - but my readership as a whole is pretty big. Lets make this happen. We (and by we I mean the blog and my readers) may not be Ain't It Cool News but I still bet we can do this.
Battlestar Galactica to continue...
Batllestar Galactica (also known as the best show on tv) was recently rumored to be ending its run after the 4th season. Now Sci Fi Wire is reporting otherwise. Not only is the 4th season not the last (well, not now anyway), but the original report had said that there would only be 13 episodes. Now they are saying it will be a full 22.
Season 3 was absolutely amazing, and frankly I'm surprised it didn't get more press than it did, especially with the 'pro suicide bomber' thread in the beginning. It fit well in the story but considering todays political climate it was a pretty gutsy call to make. The ending of season 3 was also pretty darn good. I've watched the last 5 minutes about, oh, 15 times now.
Heroes Returns Tonight
Just a quick reminder that Heroes, the best show on NBC, returns tonight. Don't forget my Geek the Tube forums to discuss the show after it has aired. (And yes, I do plan on launching geekthetube.com when I find a free moment or two...)
Geek the Tube
In an effort to try to minimize my blogging about the cool TV shows that seem to have cropped up this season, I've set up a new forum called Geek TV. Right now there is a grand total of 3 of us talking so please join us.
Battlestar Galactica Season 3
Just a quick note - but the Battlestar Galactica season opener was absolutely amazing. As much as I love Lost, the BSG premier blew it out of the water. By a long shot. I've said it before but if you aren't watching BSG, you need to - even if you aren't a big Sci Fi fan.
(And I promise - next week that ColdFusion posts return. :)
